James Obradovic has been serving as the Administrator/Director of Esperance Center Malibu since July 2015. following the semi-retirement of founder Barbara Hasselquist. Prior to his time at Esperance Center, James held the role of administrator and regional manager at Varsity Team Inc, where he worked closely with severely emotionally disturbed foster youth and their families. His passion for helping others has been a driving force throughout his career, and he is dedicated to supporting the Esperance Center team in empowering consumers to achieve their maximum potential and goals. James holds a master’s degree in public administration and bachelor’s degree in psychology from San Diego State University.
Karen Wuchenich earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice, along with a minor in rehabilitation services, from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). She also volunteered as a reserve deputy probation officer, enriching her background in community service. With over a decade of experience advocating for and working with
Karen Wuchenich earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice, along with a minor in rehabilitation services, from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). She also volunteered as a reserve deputy probation officer, enriching her background in community service. With over a decade of experience advocating for and working with individuals with disabilities, Karen launched her caregiving career in convalescent homes and as an in-home aide for individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. She later shifted her focus to supporting children with physical and developmental disabilities. In 2010, Karen joined Esperance Center, now serving as Program Coordinator. In this role, she leads the day program with unwavering passion and commitment, dedicated to enhancing the lives of the participants she serves.
Samantha Fangonil has been an integral part of Esperance Center as an Administrative Assistant since August 2019. With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, Samantha's passion lies in supporting and caring for individuals in need. Known for her creativity, she leads life skills workshops and fosters creative arts initiativ

Samantha's Business degree equips her with essential Human Resources skills, enabling her to excel in multitasking and leverage her training in Behavior Intervention to effectively assist individuals.
Dr. Dan Cayem is a licensed psychologist, board certified behavior analyst. Dan attended Glendora Schools from Elementary to High School, where he eventually met his wife, Katie. Over the past 19 years together they been fortunate enough to be blessed with 3 incredible children ranging in ages from 3 to 7. Dan has worked with individuals
Dr. Dan Cayem is a licensed psychologist, board certified behavior analyst. Dan attended Glendora Schools from Elementary to High School, where he eventually met his wife, Katie. Over the past 19 years together they been fortunate enough to be blessed with 3 incredible children ranging in ages from 3 to 7. Dan has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for the past 18 years and was raised in the field with a mother who was a QIDP and administrator and a father that was also a behavioral psychologist for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Dan received his B.A. from Azusa Pacific University after attending both Mt. San Antonio College and Citrus Colleges. He later received a M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis from California State Los Angeles and then eventually received a M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in Alhambra. During his training, Dan worked at both LA Valley College and Pasadena City College providing therapy to students and spent some time working in psychiatric hospitals, providing therapy and moderating chemical dependency groups. Primarily, Dan enjoys his time working as a consultant working with nonprofit organization who serve individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, Dan has been an adjunct professor at APU for the past 13 years and enjoys the regular conversations that he gets to have with a diverse group of students.
Dan and his family are deeply committed to supporting mental health improvement in clients, staff and family in the community, while working to see change and betterment in the world.
